Alison Marshall is a board certified, practicing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in Boston, Massachusetts. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with Honors from Boston College, she completed Yale University’s accelerated Master of Science program in Nursing.
FNP Marshall’s nursing practice is based in Massachusetts at the South Boston Community Health Center since 2005 to this day. At the height of her full-time practice, she cared for a panel of approximately 1,500 patients. One of FNP Marshall’s primary passions in nursing is to provide care in a community setting, where all people are cared for regardless of where they come from in life.
FNP Marshall is a full-time Clinical Instructor at the Boston College Connell School of Nursing. She is the primary classroom instructor for all graduating Family Nurse Practitioners from the program.
FNP Marshall is also on Faculty at The Sylvie Ratelle STD/HIV Prevention Center of New England, a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) funded national training organization for practicing providers. She engages in clinical research regarding sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and lectures to practicing clinicians nationally and internationally about the identification, treatment, and prevention of STDs.
FNP Marshall anticipates enrolling in a Doctor of Philosophy program in 2018. In working with the 5-2035 Global Foundation for Community Health project, she anticipates a unique opportunity to introduce the role of the Nurse Practitioner into a medical system that has not yet integrated advanced practice nursing care and be a leader in the creating of the 5-2035 Community Health Nurse Practitioner (CHNP) model.
FNP Marshall lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband, daughter, and their French bulldog Jarvis.
